The closest I’ve ever come to overt evangelization. Telling my story and offering an invitation for people to find what I found.

I was a stranger, stranger in a strange, strange land,

When the cards dealt, oh dealt another lousy hand,

As the rain poured and poured down upon my parade

I heard a wonderful sound

It made me turn right around

It raised me up from the depths with these words:

1. “Open your heart to me I’ll show you how to live.
   

2. Open your hands to me, I’ll teach you how to give.
   

3. Open your eyes and see how great life can be
   

4. If you just open yourself up to me.”
   

As I walked lonely, lonely ‘midst the crowd unseen.

As I cried hungry, hungry, far from pastures green

when I was tired, ‘so tired, that I thought I would fall

Then clear as a bell came a voice

It made me stand and rejoice

It brought me back from the brink with these words:

1. “Open your heart to me I’ll show you how to live.
   

2. Open your hands to me, I’ll teach you how to give.
   

3. Open your eyes and see how great life can be
   

4. If you just open yourself up to me.”
   

Now that you’ve heard my story,

you know that help is waiting

God is searching,

God is hoping,

God is calling you and he’s saying’:

1. “Open your heart to me I’ll show you how to live.
   

2. Open your hands to me, I’ll teach you how to give.
   

3. Open your eyes and see how great life can be
   

4. If you just open yourself up to me.”
   

5. “Open yourself up to me!”
